Paragon-neo includes a number of preinstalled impairment files relevant to ITU-T recommendations. How do I load patterns that are not already there?

Some corporate networks block SMB (Samba) sharing. Please confirm with your local network administrator before proceeding as Calnex cannot control this setting.

If SMB is not available, please see the section ‘Access using http’ below.

Access using SMB

Instructions on how to map the SMB share for Windows and OSX clients can be found on the File Management page of Paragon-neo, accessible at http://<IP_ADDRESS>/#/system/FileManagement where <IP_ADDRESS> is the IP shown on the LCD panel of the instrument.

Once the drive is mapped, navigate to the \calnex100g\Patterns\Impairments folder and drag/drop the required files to be used as impairments.

Once copied, they will be available for selection in the User Defined menu of the PTP Impairments:

Access using http

Paragon-neo has an integrated File Management page accessible at http://<IP_ADDRESS>/#/system/FileManagement where <IP_ADDRESS> is the IP shown on the LCD panel of the instrument.

On that page, navigate to the Patterns\Impairments folder

then click the icon indicated above to open the Upload dialogue page:

Click the Choose Files button, then use the resulting File Explorer window to navigate to the folder containing the files you want to use as impairments then select those files of interest (use shift-click or control-click to select multiple files), e.g.

Click Open and confirm that the displayed number of files matches the selected number

then click Upload to load the files onto Paragon-neo.

These will now be available for selection by pressing Load from the User Defined screen from the PTP Impairments Pattern menu.

Upon load, if prompted, ensure that the packet rate is set to the nominal packet rate of the file (e.g. 16 pps). Calnex provided patterns will have the packet rate included in the filename.
