Paragon-neo: Test Packet Counters
Paragon-neo has the ability to generate test packets during jitter tolerance tests. The test packets are transmitted from Paragon-neo Port 2, are expected to pass through the device under test and then return to Paragon-neo Port 1. The test packets statistics are then reported on the GUI:
The transmit and receive packet counters are updated once per second to show the number of test packets transmitted and received.
While the test is running, the Packets Dropped counter indicates the number of packets currently in flight and can be ignored. When the test is stopped, the Packets Dropped counter is calculated as Packets Transmitted minus Packets Received.
Test packets carry sequence numbers that are used to detect out of sequence packets. The Out of Sequence counter increments according to this equation:
If Current_Seq_Num ≠ Prev_Seq_Num + 1 then increment Out_of_Seq counter
