Paragon-X: Why is calibration needed for Jitter but not for Wander?

The answer to this lies in the way that each of these is implemented:

Jitter generation and measurement uses analogue components; wander generation and measurement is a digital process. This means that jitter performance will vary based on the actual components in the instrument. This variation is removed by calibrating the instrument. Since the behaviour of these analogue devices will change over time, this also means that the calibration has to be repeated periodically to maintain performance.
