- Message rates up to 128 messages per second (typical rates 16 to 32)
- Operates over IPv4/UDP for universal applicability (IPv6 also permitted)

- Planned protection schemes in accordance with existing telecom practice
- Based on G.781 Quality Levels for compatibility with current sync networks
