This There is a known issue , where Paragon-X GUI incorrectly shows an error may incorrectly identify sequenceId errors for Peer Delay Response Follow Up, Announce and Signalling messages by showing a [!] symbol in the “sequenceId” column, identified with the [!]. An example is shown in the screenshot below, .

Note that the the PDEL-R-FOL Sequence ID correctly advances sequentially however each sequenceId correctly increments, but each row is highlighted in RED, denoting an error, the same happens . The same can be seen for the Announce messages.

The root cause is due to This is because of the way Paragon-X evaluates Sequence ID’s for analyses sequenceId values for the Signalling, Announce, and Peer Delay Response Follow Up (PDEL-R-FOL) message types. The Sequence ID sequenceIds for these 3 three message types are compared with each other, instead of being compared only compared with for messages of the same type, as happens for the other . Other message types (, e.g. SYNC, PDEL_REQ, etc.) in the floware correctly analysed by the Paragon-X GUI and do not show this issue.

Calnex PFV Application correctly reports no error, the workaround is to use PFV for correct field verification of Peer Delay Response Follow Up Messages(an optional, licensed application) is designed for protocol analysis, and so it should be used when confirming PTP protocol compliance.
