When I try to open CAT or PFV using the shortcuts in the main Paragon-X application, nothing happens. I can start either of them using the Start Bar or direct from File Explorer. How can I fix this?

Versions 25x of CAT and PFV, which are available as part of the Paragon-X 28x release (v41.07) and as a standalone installer, are based on Visual Studio 2019.
On Windows 7, this requires that a newer Visual Studio runtime component is manually installed. Windows 10 is not affected by this issue.
To resolve the issue, install the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 available from Microsoft at https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=48145
