Calnex Product Packaging Guidelines

Calnex Product Packaging Guidelines

Please use the original packaging if available when returning a product to Calnex. Many Calnex products can be heavy, and inadequate packaging can cause damage to the instrument during shipment. Heavier types of Calnex products, such as Paragon-neo-S and SNE Ignite, are sold to customers in a Peli/Pelican case to ensure ultimate protection during transit.

If the original shipping packaging is unavailable, please follow the instructions below to ensure your Calnex equipment is adequately protected during transit.

  1. Select a strong outer box.

·       Use a sturdy, heavy-duty box. Ideally, choose an A-flute, triple-wall corrugated box for maximum protection.

  1. Use Double Boxing (Recommended)

  • If possible, double-box the product:

    • Place the device inside an inner box with padding on all sides.

    • Place the padded inner box inside a larger outer box, again surrounded by cushioning material.

  1. Prepare the Equipment

  • Secure any moving parts.

  • Remove any loose components.

  • Protect all exposed terminals, switches, and buttons to avoid damage.

  1. Padding and Cushioning

  • Fill all void space inside the box with appropriate padding to prevent movement during transit:

    • Ensure a minimum of 3–5 cm (1–2 inches) of tightly packed cushioning around all sides, including top and bottom.

    • Preferred materials: Foam inserts, air pillows, or loose-fill chips.

    • Avoid coarse paper, as it may scratch product surfaces.

  • Test before sealing:

    • Shake the box gently—if you hear any rattle or movement, add more packing material.

  • Do not overfill the box, as this can distort its shape and compromise protection.

  1. Packing separated parts

  • Pack and pad all separated parts individually to prevent them from contacting and damaging each other during transit.

  1. Sealing the box

  • Use high-quality packing tape that is resistant to cold temperatures.

  • Tape securely across all seams — top, bottom, and edges — to ensure the box remains closed.

  1. Labelling

  • Attach the shipping label to the top surface of the box, avoiding placement over seams or tape.

  • Remove any old shipping labels or barcodes from reused boxes to avoid confusion.

  1. Indicating Orientation

  • Mark the "Top" clearly:

    • Affix "This Side Up" arrow labels on multiple sides of the box.

    • Alternatively, use a permanent marker to draw arrows pointing upward.
