Calnex SNE: What Optics / Transceivers can I use?
Can I use any optics in the SNE?
The SNE currently supports only Intel optics (or verified Intel-compatible optics - see below for details). These can be ordered and supplied with the unit.
Do you support SFP modules?
No. SFP+ modules are supported, but SFP modules are not.
Do the 10GbE modules run at 1GbE as well?
Yes, they are dual rate.
Do the 25GbE modules run at 10GbE and 1GbE as well?
No, they are single rate only. For 10GbE and 1GbE on 25GbE interfaces, supported SFP+ modules must be used (see below).
Can I buy my own optics?
Yes, certain Intel-compatible optics can be used. The modules that are supported are listed below.
