Calnex SNE: Why is the Device icon red even though I am connected?
This article relates to SNE versions up to and including version 7.x. It does not apply to the Web UI (web browser-based user interface).
In the Device / Map navigation pane, you may see your instrument with a red icon even when you are connected:
This is a defect in the software (which no longer applies in the Web UI, so our strong recommendation is to upgrade the firmware to the latest Web UI version). The status icon can be used to determine whether you are connected to your instrument or not. If it shows [IDLE] or a spinning cog wheel, then you are connected:
