What spec do I need for a PC to work with Paragon-X?

The minimum PC requirements for use with Paragon-X are documented in CX5006. In summary:

  • OS: 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 Professional or Windows 10 Professional or Home
  • Microprocessor: 2.3 GHz Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor or equivalent
  • Memory: 2048 MB
  • Display Resolution: 1280x1024

If you are using the CAT, then, in addition:

  • .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.5 (or later) must be enabled. Note that the full .NET version is required (the client profile and extended packages are not sufficient). See this article for further details.

Paragon-X may operate with less capable PCs but this is not recommended.

I want to use Windows 7/10 Enterprise / Windows Server 20xx with Paragon-X. Is this possible?

Paragon-X is not officially supported on these Operating Systems.

However, we know that a number of customers are using other OSes. If you having difficulties, then here are some suggestions that may help:

  • Make sure that the PC is up to date. Use Windows Update and accept all important updates.
  • Make sure that the PC has, as a minimum, the full .NET 4.5 installed. Newer versions of .NET are also OK
