Sentinel: How to Update Sentinel Firmware

The latest Sentinel and CAT software can be downloaded from the Calnex Support Portal. Release notes are also available from the same location.

Upload the Firmware File

This can be done either using a USB memory stick, or FTP if the Sentinel is accessible remotely via the management interface.

USB

If using USB copy the downloaded Sentinel Firmware file onto a memory stick and insert the memory stick into the Sentinel’s USB Host Port. Select System > File Management and copy the file to an appropriate location on the Sentinel’s internal memory.

FTP

If using FTP upload the file to the Sentinel’s internal memory.

Update the Firmware

Select System > About > Update Firmware

Confirm the versions shown in the popup, and select Yes

The firmware will be extracted, then the Sentinel will reboot.

After the Sentinel has rebooted, all installed packet modules will then be updated.

Do not shutdown or reboot during this update.

The update version can be verified in the About screen
