Question: What spec do I need for a PC to work with Paragon-X?

The minimum PC requirements for use with Paragon-X are documented in CX5006 which is available from the Calnex website. In summary:

  • OS: 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 Professional or Windows 10
  • Microprocessor: 2.3 GHz Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor or equivalent
  • Memory: 2048 MB
  • Display Resolution: 1280x1024

If you are using the CAT, then, in addition:

  • .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.5 (or later) must be enabled. Note that the full .NET version is required (the client profile and extended packages are not sufficient).

Paragon-X may operate with less capable PCs but this is not recommended.

Question: I want to use Windows 7 Enterprise / Windows Server 20xx with Paragon-X. Is this possible?

Paragon-X is not officially supported on these Operating Systems.

However, we know that a number of customers are using other OSes. If you having difficulties, then here are some suggestions that may help:

  • Make sure that the PC is up to date. Use Windows Update and accept all important updates.
  • Make sure that the PC has, as a minimum, the full .NET 4.5 installed. Newer versions of .NET are also OK

Question: What are the minimum computer requirements for Sentinel, Paragon-100G, Paragon-neo?

Sentinel is a stand-alone field test and does not need a PC to operate.

The interface to Paragon-100G and Paragon-neo is through a Web browser; there are no specific requirements requirements placed on the computer hosting the browser client.
