G.8273.2 FTS Patterns
The Calnex G.8271.1 FTS Tolerance Noise Patterns meet the specifications required to test conformance to ITU-T G.8273.2. The pattern files are in the next section.
These patterns will run on Paragon-X and Paragon-neo. Paragon-neo has built-in support for these patterns from R11. These patterns will not load on a Paragon Classic.
ITU-T G.8271.1 Amd2 (02/2022) specifies the maximum network limits of phase and time error that shall not be exceeded at specific points in the network. It specifies the minimum equipment tolerance to phase and time error that shall be provided at the boundary of packet networks at phase and time synchronization interfaces.
G.8273.2 Amd1 (02/2022) defines the maximum noise a device must tolerate while delivering within specification timing and operating normally. Appendix IX describes a method to generate suitable test patterns to simulate G.8271.1 network noise for testing device conformance to the noise tolerance requirement.
Noise Model Patterns
These patterns have been generated using the time/phase error noise model method described in G.8273.2 Amd1 (02/2022) Appendix IX. The “Reference Point C” pattern includes the effect of a suppressed physical layer re-arrangement transient on the PTP time error.
Sinusoidal Model Patterns
These patterns use sinusoidal tones to create the time/phase errors. They can be loaded into Neo although the relevant conformance tests for Neo have these patterns pre-loaded, so they are primarily for use on Paragon X. They cannot be loaded into a Paragon Classic.
