Paragon-neo: How to Back-Up User Files
Calnex recommend that users regularly back-up measurement files, configuration files, reports and any user generated impairment, PFV rules and CAT mask files from Paragon-neo to a network server or another file system. Additionally, if the instrument is being returned to Calnex it is best practice to make a backup prior to shipping.
The user files are stored on the internal filesystem in the instrument, access them using the instructions below.
First, access the Paragon-neo file system using Web UI File Management, or the Samba Share (click the links for full instructions if required).
The table below shows Paragon-neo user files that should be considered for regular backup. Using the chosen file access method, copy the required folders/sub-folders below to the required destination.
Folder Name | Contents |
---|---|
CAT/Reports | Measurement report files generated by CAT. |
CAT/UserMasks | User defined measurement masks. |
Logs | CAT, PFV and Paragon-neo error logs. |
Patterns / Impairments | User-defined impairment files. |
PFV/Reports | Analysis report files generated by PFV. |
PFV/Rules | User defined Packet analysis rules. |
Sessions | Measurement data files. |
UserSettings | All settings saved by the user from Application → Run Apps → Save/Recall Settings. |
Paragon-neo operating software files do not require backing up and are not accessible to users
Session files in particular can be multiple gigabytes each resulting in a lot of data, ensure there is enough space on the destination system prior to starting the backup process.
